An exciting opportunity for a qualified Swim Teacher / Swimming Instructor to deliver fun, safe and engaging swimming lessons as part of a well-established learn to swim programme.

SALARY:
£17.00 per hour (SEQ Level 1 Teaching Swimming or STA Award including holiday renumeration)
OR
£21.00 per hour (SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming or STA Award including holiday renumeration)

LOCATION: Hedge End, Southampton, Hampshire (SO30)

JOB TYPE: Part-Time, Casual

The following Casual Shifts are available:

Wednesday 4:00pm – 6:00pm
Friday 3:45pm – 6:45pm
Saturday 9:00am – 12:00pm


JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Swimming Instructor to support the delivery of a structured and enjoyable learn to swim programme.

As a Swimming Instructor you will teach children and adults of all abilities, helping them build water confidence and improve their swimming techniques in a supportive environment.

The Swimming Instructor will work within a friendly and professional leisure team, committed to providing high-quality swimming lessons for the community. The leisure centre is conveniently located close to public transport links and major roads.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Swimming Instructor include:

• Deliver Engaging Lessons: Teach swimmers of all ages and abilities following the learn to swim programme

• Ensure Safety: Maintain a safe swimming environment at all times, adhering to safeguarding and health and safety policies

• Provide Encouragement: Motivate and support participants to achieve their swimming goals

• Monitor Progress: Assess swimmer development and provide constructive feedback to learners and parents

• Prepare Equipment: Set up and maintain swimming aids and teaching resources before and after sessions

• Promote Good Practice: Uphold high standards of professionalism and behaviour within the pool environment


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Qualified to SEQ Level 1 or Level 2 in Teaching Swimming (or STA equivalent)

• Previous experience teaching swimming to a range of ages and abilities

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety practices within a leisure environment

• Friendly, patient and approachable attitude

• Flexible and reliable with good time management skills
