Summary
Join us as a Product Designer
- We’ll look to you to ensure all design outputs are developer-ready, complete with design specifications, accessibility annotations, and design system integration to enable accurate, efficient implementation and maintain product quality
- You’ll define the scope, approach, and timelines for product design in small to medium scale projects and you’ll contribute to the development of larger project and programme plans, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to understand requirements and iterate outputs
- This is a remote-first role, so you’ll spend most of your time at home, working with your team digitally and coming into the office at least once a week when you need to collaborate closely with your colleagues
What you'll do
As a Product Designer, you’ll manage and deliver product design for small to medium scale projects, ensuring outputs align with project objectives and business goals. You’ll execute clearly defined product design tasks following established guidance. As such, you’ll ensure delivery within scope and timescales, effectively balancing user needs, business goals, and technical constraints. This will include designing user experiences, information architecture plans, and prototype outlines.
Working with other disciplines, you’ll clarify and agree project objectives and work collaboratively to deliver project objectives, effectively communicating product design decisions and rationale with project team members and other colleagues. You’ll also ensure product designs deliver user-centred solutions that are both functional and engaging and you’ll balance creativity and innovation with brand alignment and technical constraints.
As well as this, you’ll:
- Consistently apply guidelines and standards, and contribute to their refinement
- Continuously develop your skills and domain knowledge, and support the development of colleagues by giving feedback and sharing best practices
- Make project-level product design decisions in line with defined authority, ensuring outputs are user-centred and inclusive
- Act as a key contact for project stakeholders to manage expectations, support understanding, and influence decisions
- Share progress and manage risk, conflict, and alignment issues in line with defined authority, escalating as necessary
The skills you'll need
We’re looking for someone skilled in designing and delivering production-ready user journeys and interfaces that are fully documented, structured, and built with consistent design system components and accessibility tags for seamless developer handoff. You’ll have experience delivering high quality user flows, interfaces, and prototypes for digital products informed and validated by user research and you’ll have a portfolio demonstrating visually engaging product design, user-centered solutions, and the rationale for design decisions.
We’re also looking for:
- An understanding of user-centered design and a good working knowledge of product design, design systems, and accessible and inclusive design principles
- Experience of managing and delivering product design projects at pace, using agile delivery methods
- Demonstrable skills in design thinking, interface design, information architecture, and prototyping
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and effectively collaborating with researchers, designers, developers, and product managers
- A confident communicator with the ability to present work and the rationale behind it to engage and influence project stakeholders
- A strong willingness to learn and develop product design skills through hands-on experience
