About Us

At the Heart of England Co-operative Society, we’ve proudly served our communities for over 190 years. Our Funeral division is known for delivering compassionate, professional services that support families at life’s most sensitive moments. We’re now looking for a Funeral Plan Sales Lead to champion the growth of our pre-paid funeral plan services — helping families plan ahead with confidence and care.

The Role

As our Funeral Plan Sales Lead, you’ll take the lead on all aspects of funeral plan operations — driving sales performance, ensuring compliance, and maintaining exceptional standards of customer service. You’ll work closely with our funeral branches, colleagues, and external partners to promote our funeral plan offering and deliver meaningful, ethical support to clients.

What You’ll Be Doing:

- Lead and inspire funeral branch teams to achieve sales targets and deliver outstanding client experiences.
- Build and nurture business-to-business and community relationships to promote funeral plans.
- Develop and deliver marketing campaigns — from digital initiatives to local sponsorships and events.
- Ensure full compliance with FCA, FPA, and GDPR standards.
- Coach, motivate, and support colleagues, enhancing product knowledge and confidence.
- Monitor KPIs, track performance, and use customer feedback to continually improve service quality.
- Act as an ambassador for the Heart of England Co-operative Society at community and business forums.

About You

You’ll bring drive, empathy, and professionalism to this pivotal role. You’re someone who thrives on building relationships, coaching others, and achieving results — all while maintaining the highest ethical standards.

You’ll have:

- Experience in a sales or customer-focused role.
- Confidence working independently and managing your own schedule.
- Strong B2B relationship-building and networking skills.
- A passion for coaching and supporting others.
- Marketing awareness across digital, print, and community channels.
- Sensitivity and understanding when supporting bereaved or planning families.
- A commitment to compliance and continuous improvement.

Why Join Us?

At the Heart of England Co-operative Society, we’re proud of our CARE Values — Collaboration, Accountability, Responsiveness, and Excellence. You’ll join a supportive team where your contribution makes a real difference to our members, our communities, and the families we serve.

We offer:

- A competitive salary (£32,000–£35,000)
- Pension and staff discounts
- Ongoing learning and development
- A meaningful career with a values-driven organisation
