Summary

Make an Impact Through Technology. Lead the Future of IT at Jewish Care.

At Jewish Care, we’re on an exciting journey to transform the way we use digital technology — helping our staff work more efficiently, improving quality, and enhancing the lives of the people we support across our services.

We are now seeking a Head of IT Delivery to lead our IT Operations function and play a pivotal role in driving this transformation. Reporting into the Head of Digital Transformation & IT, this is a senior leadership role with strategic influence and operational responsibility across all areas of IT delivery.

About the Role

As Head of IT Delivery, you will lead and develop a high-performing IT team focused on excellence in service, innovation, and collaboration. You will oversee IT Support, Infrastructure, and BAU IT Services — ensuring the smooth running of systems, proactive problem-solving, and delivery of technology projects that align with Jewish Care’s strategic goals.

You’ll be a visible leader across the organisation, putting the end user at the heart of decision-making, and ensuring IT is recognised as a trusted, customer-focused partner.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across our Digital Transformation Programme, the Senior Leadership Team, and the IT Security & Risk Manager to ensure systems are efficient, secure, and continually improving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the IT Operations team, fostering a culture of customer focus, accountability, and excellence.
  • Oversee BAU IT services, infrastructure, and helpdesk operations to ensure business continuity and service quality.
  • Manage IT projects from inception to delivery, ensuring alignment with governance and budgetary requirements.
  • Oversee and mentor the IT Helpdesk Manager and Infrastructure Manager.
  • Work collaboratively with the IT Security & Risk Manager to uphold strong cyber security and resilience standards.
  • Manage IT vendors, contracts, and supplier relationships.
  • Contribute to IT strategy development and ensure alignment with organisational goals.
  • Create and maintain IT policies, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and internal standards.
  • Manage IT budgets effectively, driving value for money.
  • Communicate IT initiatives clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
About You

You are an experienced IT leader with a passion for enabling people and organisations through technology. You combine deep technical understanding with strong people skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas simply.

You’ll bring:
  • Proven experience (8+ years) leading IT operations in a complex organisation, ideally within care, charity, or not-for-profit sectors.
  • Experience delivering IT services and infrastructure using Microsoft Azure and M365.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practice, ITIL, and service management principles.
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams, motivating others, and managing technical projects from start to finish.
  • Excellent relationship-building, influencing, and communication skills.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to balance operational detail and long-term vision.
Qualifications
  • ITIL certification (essential)
  • Degree in a STEM or related field (desirable)
  • Technical certifications (e.g. MS Azure Admin, CompTIA Network+, CISSP) – desirable
Why Jewish Care?
