Finance Officer – Income
Salary: £31,490 - £33,147
Location: Ealing office base with Hybrid working.
Contract: 12-month maternity cover contract, 35 hours per week
DBS check required: Basic
Role Overview
We are looking for a Finance Officer – Income to join our dedicated Finance department. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a high-quality processing service for rental income streams.
Key responsibilities:
To be responsible for posting all rental income receipts in a timely manner. This includes processing Standing Orders, Bank Giro Credits, Housing Benefits payments, Direct Debits, Allpay
To be responsible for posting of tenant adjustments (e.g. Write-Offs, Rent debit/credit Adjustments, Tenant Refunds, Housing Benefit Overpayments, Completion monies, Court Costs, Compensation etc.), journal creations and entries to the accounting systems to ensure tenant accounts are accurate and up to date
To be responsible for Direct Debits (DD) collections and maintenance of DD records in line with the Group’s procedures and policies. To ensure the creation and transmission of BACS files are in accordance the Group’s agreed collection dates, contractual obligations and BACS timetable
To investigate and resolve unallocated rent receipts from the suspense account in an accurate and timely manner
To be responsible for the daily, weekly and monthly control processes, such as tenancy movements and housing system/finance accounting system interface and related intercompany postings
To be responsible for resolving customer queries promptly, including liaison with A2D Operational teams, residents, banks, Local Authorities and 3rd party providers as required
To maintain income team policies and procedures up to date
To continually review and recommend process improvements and comply with recommendations from Internal and External Audit Reviews
To be involved in project work, as well as testing and implementing new systems as and when required
More about you
· Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Math’s and English (Grades A*- C)
· Accredited AAT or studying towards a finance/accounting qualification
· Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook and ability to learn new software
· High level of attention to details
· Experience of processing high volume transactions
· Excellent interpersonal skills
