We're looking for Senior Digital Project Managers who can lead the delivery of multiple digital projects, in an agile, user-centric environment.

Our Digital Project Managers use a range of skills and methodologies, managing multi-functional delivery teams to deliver change, maintain our core applications and deliver new services.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

Project Management Expertise: Demonstrable expert-level experience in leading large scale digital projects end to end. Skilled in applying a range of project management tools and techniques, with sound judgment on when and how to use them effectively.

Strategic Communication: Communicates with impact across diverse stakeholder groups. Tailors messaging to suit different audiences, ensuring clarity, influence, and alignment.

Leadership & Team Empowerment: Motivates teams to deliver at pace while fostering a positive and inclusive working environment. Resolves interpersonal challenges and supports teams in navigating conflict constructively.

Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identifies risks, blockers, and emerging issues. Takes decisive action to resolve or escalate, while promoting continuous learning and improvement.

Commercial & Financial Acumen: Experienced in procurement, supplier management, and budget oversight. Plans creatively and effectively to optimise delivery speed, value for money, and quality outcomes.

You will also be asked for evidence of a technical skill as follows:

Describe a time when you approached a complex project (that had significant business, political or high-profile impact and high-risk dependencies). Describe the key outcomes and how you were successful in the delivery.

You and your role

You'll be an experienced Senior Digital Project Manager and a trusted, expert voice in our community.

You will lead the end-to-end delivery of large scale complex digital change, working with your team to ensure project controls are in place, managing plans, risks, issues and dependencies to effective resolution.

You'll lead on governance, team management and report progress directly to our Digital Directors. You'll taking ownership of resolving complex issues, and influence decisions that require board level approval.

You'll manage team dynamics, coaching teams to improve flow, quality and ownership throughout the team.

Part of this role is about managing conflicts and helping to establish a positive team culture, so the relationship and communication skills you have honed in managing successful projects will help keep us on track and delivering for our users.

Location: You'll join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester or Newcastle, whichever is most convenient for you.

Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you'll spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face to face in a hub.

Pay: We offer competitive pay of £57,946 to £68,205.

Pension: You'll get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%, worth 0ver £16,000 per year.

Holidays: A generous leave package starting at 25 days and rising to 31 days over time.

You can also take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time. You'll also get all the usual public holidays.
