Qualifications Required: Teaching Assistant L3
Start Date: 5th January 2025Salary: Grade 4 £26,403 - £28,142 pro rata TTO We have close to 240 wonderful children at Crowcroft Park Primary School. They are happy, chatty and enthusiastic – and each one is unique, special and valued. We serve a diverse and ever-changing community, which brings a welcome richness to daily school life. Our children amaze and astound us continually, providing frequent joyful moments as they take new learning, new friendships, new languages - and even new countries in their stride. We feel proud and privileged to educate the children of Longsight.
We are seeking to appoint and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who is a team player, highly motivated and resilient to join our team. The successful candidates will need to demonstrate through their application form that they:
- Have at least two years' experience of supporting children in a school setting
- Have experience of working effectively with children with SEND and EAL
- Have a TA3 qualification
- Be open to new ideas and committed to working as part of the school team
Crowcroft Park is a small community school in a city centre location. We educate 250 delightful children and pride ourselves on our high standards of professionalism and expertise. Many of our children have English as an Additional Language (EAL), are eligible for Free School Meals, are known to Children’s Social Care, or have Special Educational Needs (SEND). These factors often combine to create a challenging but rewarding educational context in which we make a genuine difference to children’s lives every day.
Our teaching assistants are an essential and highly valued part of our education team and, for this reason, we pay all of our TAs at Level 3. Our TAs work alongside the teacher each day, supporting the whole class as well as individual children and delivering interventions. We offer a structured, tailored training programme and a clear career pathway – four of our TAs have progressed to qualified teachers in the last three years. We also pride ourselves on the warm and supportive workplace culture we have fostered.
We have high expectations of our teaching assistants: our children deserve the very best, and every adult working at Crowcroft Park is expected to give their best each and every day. The work is challenging and fast-paced, but incredibly rewarding and important.
Due to the needs of our children, including many with EAL, it is important that our staff team can demonstrate a high standard of spoken and written English, in order to support pupils’ learning and provide positive language models. You may demonstrate this through formal qualifications and/or at interview, and we welcome evidence of equivalent experience or skills.
