Job Title: Administrative Officer - RQIA (Band 4)
Location: Belfast City Centre
Contract Type: Temporary ongoing
Hours: Full time

About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Administrative Officer to join the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA) team. As part of our dedicated operational support function, you will play a key role in delivering excellent service to the public and supporting our inspection and governance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to incoming calls, recording and storing information accurately within RQIA systems.
  • Provide timely and accurate guidance to address caller needs and maintain high standards of customer service.
  • Share information and direct requests to the appropriate teams within RQIA.
  • Identify and escalate any concerns, safeguarding issues, or risks relating to services inspected by RQIA.
  • Create and maintain staff rotas, manage absences, and ensure adequate cover across teams, escalating gaps as required.
  • Manage team mailboxes, triage calls, voicemails, and emails efficiently.
  • Support recruitment, induction, and co-ordination of the Inspection Support Volunteer Programme in line with policy.
  • Provide administrative and meeting support to the Office of the Chair and Chief Executive, ensuring timely completion of follow-up actions.


About You?

You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, be confident using a range of IT systems, and work well both independently and as part of a team. Experience in a busy administrative or customer-facing environment is essential, along with a strong commitment to upholding RQIA's values of collaboration, respect, and integrity.
