In Winchester, schools are looking for something more than cover. They want leaders who can inspire, engage, and guide young people through their day with confidence and care. If you've coached a sports team, you already have what it takes.
Think about what you do on the training ground. You set goals, create drills, motivate players when they're struggling, and keep the whole team focused. Now imagine using those same skills in a classroom, where instead of scoring points, students are learning, growing, and developing life skills.
Quokka Education is working with leading secondary schools in Winchester to recruit Cover Supervisors who can step in when teachers are absent. You don't need teaching experience - if you can project authority, motivate groups, and stay adaptable, we'll give you the training to thrive.
- Day 1-30: Much like the start of a sports season, you'll spend your first month getting to know the routines. You'll lead lessons with content already planned, giving students structure while you establish your own presence. You'll show you're empathetic and warm-hearted, firm when needed but approachable at the same time.
- Day 31-60: By your second month, you'll be more confident, moving easily between subjects and year groups. Just as you build relationships with players, you'll build trust with students. Teachers and leaders will notice your consistency and start requesting you personally.
- Day 61-90: By the third month, you'll be known as one of the go-to Cover Supervisors in Winchester. Schools will see you as reliable, professional, and impactful. Students will look to you for structure and support, and you'll have built a reputation as someone who makes a positive difference every day.
Coaching is about more than sport. It's about discipline, resilience, and belief. In classrooms, those same qualities are essential. A good Cover Supervisor doesn't just "keep order" - they set the tone for learning, encourage positive behaviour, and give young people the confidence to keep moving forward. That's what you'll achieve here.
- Sports coaches who want to transfer their leadership into schools.
- People with backgrounds in PE, coaching, fitness, or sports science.
- Aspiring teachers who want classroom experience.
- Adaptable, resilient individuals who are empathetic and warm-hearted.
- Flexible roles in Winchester schools.
- Weekly pay from £120/day PAYE.
- Free CPD and training in behaviour, safeguarding, SEN strategies, and more.
- A supportive employer that values fairness and transparency.
- Location: Winchester
- Pay: From £120/day PAYE
- Position: Cover Support
In sport, victories are short-lived. In education, the wins last a lifetime. Apply today and discover how your coaching career can open doors to a new kind of impact in Winchester classrooms.
