Plumber / Multi-Trade Operative
Location: Slough, Berkshire
Salary: £37,425 per annum
The Opportunity
Work with one of the region's premier housing providers, which is dedicated to delivering secure, well-kept, and comfortable residences for our occupants throughout the Slough district. We are currently recruiting a skilled and motivated Plumber / Multi-Trade Operative to become part of our internal maintenance team.
Core Responsibilities-
Call-Out Repairs: Undertake standard and urgent plumbing and foundational multi-trade service and repairs within occupied social housing units in the Slough area.

Troubleshooting: Aptly diagnose, inspect, and resolve various plumbing issues, including water escape, blockages, and fixture component repairs.

Support Trade Tasks: Execute fundamental secondary trade duties (e.g., light plaster patching, wall and floor tiling, basic carpentry) required to conclude repair tasks efficiently.

Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all tasks are executed to the highest criteria, strictly adhering to all current Safety at Work regulations and company protocols.

Client Interaction: Function as an ambassador of the housing association, providing polite and transparent communication with residents concerning their repairs and issues.

Internal Relations: Cooperate effectively with line managers, colleagues, and the scheduling department to ensure timely and efficient delivery of services.
Candidate Profile

Certification: NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing (or an equivalent, industry-recognised trade qualification/experience).

Experience: Verifiable background in plumbing maintenance and repairs, ideally within a social housing, public sector, or facilities management setting.

Skills: Robust fault identification and problem-solving skills, paired with competency in performing basic multi-trade maintenance.

Self-Management: Demonstrated capacity to effectively manage your workflow and complete projects to a high level with minimal oversight.

Communication: Exceptional communication skills (both spoken and interpersonal) for clear dialogue with residents and team members.

Licence: Must hold a current, full UK driving licence.
