Job Overview

We are looking for a Forklift Driver/Warehouse Operative to join our busy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for moving goods, loading pallets and equipment safely and securely. In addition to driving forklifts, responsibilities will include selecting products from inventory based on customer orders, packing them securely for shipment, and ensuring that all items are accurately accounted for.

Key Forklift Responsibilities include:
• Manoeuvring forklifts safely in busy industrial environment.
• Safely stacking and unstacking large quantities of goods onto shelves or pallets.
• Moving goods from storage areas to loading areas for transport.
• Unloading deliveries and safely relocating the goods to their designated storage areas.
• Ensuring that forklift driving areas are free from spills or obstructions.
• Regularly checking forklift equipment for faults or damages.
• Using industrial plastic wraps and wooden pallets to safely stack and package goods for transport.
• Keeping up to date on health and safety requirements and forklift operating procedures.
• Consolidating partial pallets for incoming goods.

Key Warehouse Operative Responsibilities
• Selecting Products: Accurately pick items from shelves based on customer orders, ensuring the correct quantity and quality.
• Packing Orders: Package items securely to prevent damage during transit, using appropriate materials and methods.
• Quality Control: Inspect products for defects or discrepancies before packing to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records, including updating stock levels and reporting any shortages or discrepancies.
• Using Technology: Operate warehouse technology, such as handheld scanners and inventory management systems, to track orders and manage stock.
• Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep the work area organized and clean, adhering to safety and health regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications
• A valid forklift license (Flexi is essential).
• Good spatial awareness to manoeuvre safely in busy or tight spaces.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic Computer Skills: Familiarity with warehouse management systems and basic computing for inventory tracking.
• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with other warehouse staff to meet daily targets and deadlines.
• Physical stamina, as the role can involve standing, lifting, and working in different environments.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Time Management: Efficiently manage time to ensure timely order fulfilment.

Working Environment
• Warehouse setting, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
• Day Shifts.
