A fantastic opportunity has arisen at CUH to join the pharmacy team as an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist for Emergency medicine. As one of the busiest Emergency Departments in the East of Englandyou will support safe and effective medicines optimisation, contribute to clinical decision-making, and ensure the highest standards of patient safety.
For this new role, we are looking for a proactive, self-motivated individual with excellent organisational skills who can work effectively under pressure, both alone and as part of the wider pharmacy and multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for leading the Emergency medicine service provision at CUH, representing both the Emergency Department (ED) and same Day Emergency Care (SDEC).
The role is based at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, where you will work as part of the wider medicine team, providing expert pharmaceutical knowledge and high-level input to the management of a diverse range of acute medical, surgical, and trauma patients.
The post holder will utilise prescribing skills to optimise medications, champion antimicrobial stewardship and lead on the development of safer prescribing practices within the Emergency medicine services. You will be supported by the Lead Pharmacists for Medicine to develop this service and represent pharmacy at the relevant governance meetings.
The role also involves delivering staff training to trainee pharmacists, junior pharmacists and the wider MDT.
