About the Role

Queen Mary’s High School is seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and flexible individual to join our vibrant and diverse school community as an Admin Support with Cover Supervision. This is a rewarding opportunity to support both students and staff in a successful, oversubscribed selective girls’ grammar school.

You will provide curriculum cover supervision for classes or groups of pupils whose usual teacher is absent, facilitating lessons at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. When not providing cover, you will offer clerical and administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team and Subject Leaders.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise classes during teacher absence, ensuring a positive and conducive learning environment.
• Liaise with staff regarding cover work, reporting on progress and behaviour.
• Support student learning and uphold the school’s ethos and high expectations.
• Provide administrative support, including managing financial assistance and bursaries systems.
• Assist with school events, reception cover, and act as a first aider.
• Accompany pupils on trips and educational activities as required.


About You

Essential:

• Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths at GCSE (or equivalent).
• Good computer and administrative skills, with experience in MS Office, Word, and Excel.
• Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to the values and ethos of Queen Mary’s High School, including safeguarding and equality.

Desirable:

• Experience in a school or educational setting.
• Experience in school administration.

Full training will be provided, and we welcome applications from candidates at all levels of experience.

Key Information

• Hours: 32.5 per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4pm (term time only, including INSET days)
• Salary: Actual £19,635 - £21,262 (FTE £25,989 - £28,142)
• Closing Date: Sunday 23rd November 2025
• Interview Date: Friday 28th November 2025
