Job Summary
The Field Care Supervisor is responsible for supervising, coaching and supporting a team of care/support workers to deliver person-centred, safe and high-quality domiciliary care. The role combines operational leadership (rotas, recruitment, absence and timesheet authorisation), quality assurance (spot-checks, observed practice, audits), staff development (induction, training and supervision) and escalation of clinical, safeguarding or service issues to management. The post-holder helps ensure the team meets Enerst Care’s quality, regulatory and KPI expectations.

Main duties & responsibilities
Lead, supervise and support a defined team of care/support workers to ensure delivery of person-centred care in line with individual care plans and company policy.
Conduct regular one-to-one supervisions and development reviews, and carry out observed practice visits to assure competence and care quality. (See KPIs below for expected frequency.)
Undertake unannounced spot-checks and audit visits to service users’ homes; record outcomes and follow up actions.
Allocate and manage rotas, authorise timesheets in line with company rules, manage absence and support cover arrangements to avoid missed visits.
Recruit, induct and mentor new care staff; ensure completion of mandatory training and the Care Certificate/competency sign-offs.
Monitor and drive team performance against operational and quality KPIs (punctuality, medication safety, documentation, alerts and care-plan fidelity). Escalate issues and audit actions to the Registered Manager.
Triage and oversee alerts/incident follow-up in the team, ensuring timely action and reporting.
Promote and enforce Enerst Care policies: safeguarding, confidentiality/Data Protection (GDPR), infection control (HCAI hygiene code) and health & safety. Ensure staff comply with all company procedures.
Person specification

Essential
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a health & social care role (care/support work or supervisory role).
Experience of supervising or coaching staff, conducting spot-checks and delivering/recording supervisions.
Strong organisational skills, ability to manage rotas and handle competing priorities.
Good written and verbal communication skills; able to maintain accurate, timely records.
Commitment to person-centred care, equality & diversity and maintaining confidentiality in line with company policy.

Desirable
Level 2/3 (or above) health & social care qualification / NVQ (or equivalent).
Previous experience within domiciliary care, with knowledge of CQC standards and local commissioning expectations.
Leadership or management training / qualification.

Mandatory checks & requirements
This role requires an enhanced DBS check (regulated activity / personal care roles). Enerst Care follows DBS procedures for care roles and handling of disclosure information.
Completion of Enerst Care mandatory safeguarding and other statutory training, and compliance with DBS renewal/online update requirements as set out in company policy.
Where driving or escorting service users is an element of the role, a full driving licence (clear of relevant penalty points), insurance and adherence to the Escorting & Driving policy are required. Driving duties should be written into the job description/contract and agreed via risk assessment.
Other responsibilities
Ensure staff follow Infection Control / HCAI guidance, Health & Safety and company confidentiality procedures at all times. Enerst Care expects flexibility and that staff may be asked to perform other duties commensurate with their post.
