You may be leaving college with a level 2 in education and early years, or a certificate in childcare and are looking for the opportunity to share your skills.The most important thing is having the right mindset for the role. You need to be proactive, energetic, and committed in order to engage pupils and develop their desire to learn. You will help inspire them to be confident and independent. You will need to be calm, patient, sensitive, and able to comfort children when they are upset. We are looking for people who demonstrate a positive attitude and enthusiasm for creating a supportive learning environment.THE ROLE - Working across all year groups - Fixed term contract until 31 August 2026- 22 hours and 30 minutes per week, 8:30am - 1:15pm Monday to Friday with a 15 minute unpaid break per day- This role is both 1:1 support and small group work- We are seeking someone who has worked in a school and nursery setting previously and is familiar with the sector. - You must have previous experience working with children with complex additional needsABOUT USWalliscote Primary School is situated in central Weston-super-Mare close to the beach. We are a diverse, strong community educating 4-11 year olds. We have high expectations for all of our children and are looking for inspirational staff to support us in providing the best possible learning experience for each child in our care. We adopt a whole-school Thrive approach providing emotional support to all of our children and as a member of staff here at Walliscote you will support the community to promote positive mental health, improve children’s ability to learn, and open doors to a brighter future.
