A Snapshot of Your Day:
The Quotations Engineer will work closely with the customer, and internal cross-functional teams to develop and deliver quote packages. They will take ownership of the opportunities from bid decision to quote submission. Through consultations with engineering, operations, quality and suppliers the quotations engineers shall review the manufacturability, estimate costs and define the scope of the project.
How You'll Make an Impact:
- Support and interact with engineers, customers and sales team throughout the bid process
- Help customers to understand minimum requirements defining the RfQ package, Define project scope in consultation with customers and MSL
- Liaise with customers and technical experts to help develop product definitions
- Take ownership of opportunity from bid decision to quote submission
- Identify subcon requirements and liaise with subcontractors at quoting stage
- Provide ROM quotes, business case calculations to internal and external Sales team
- Receive inputs from cross functional teams to develop costing and understanding technical challenges
- Complete formal quote documentation and provide quote package to sales team
- Maintain and manage quote process and tools
What You Bring
Essential:
- Experience of engineering or sales within a manufacturing business
- Experience generating project proposals and costing
- Experience in customer-facing role
- Competent in MS Office, especially Excel
- Comfortable presenting technical solutions to customers, alongside the engineering specialists, and negotiating project scope.
Desired:
- Ability to understand engineering drawings and employed manufacturing methods
- Basic experience in CAD packages at a minimum (NX or similar)
- Experience/know-how of any 3D printing technology
- Experience with Additive manufacturing preparation suites (Magics or similar) would be beneficial
Optional:
- Project management experience would be beneficial
About the team
You will work within the Business development, Sales & Strategy team whilst also working closely with the local and global engineering teams, quality, operations and production engineering.
