Location: Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan WN4 9GD
Shift: Monday to Friday, Evening into Night (start between 7pm-10pm)
Hours: Minimum 8 hours per shift (some shifts may exceed 8 hours)
Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for a Driver's Mate to join the Transport team at Poundland Wigan Distribution Centre.
You will assist the driver on evening and night routes, ensuring deliveries are completed safely and efficiently.
When delivery routes are shorter than 8 hours, you may be required to support other warehouse operations such as Hygiene or Container duties.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist the driver with loading and unloading goods.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on time.
- Provide excellent customer service when dealing with clients or delivery points.
- Follow all health and safety procedures.
- Support warehouse operations when required.
Requirements:
- Physically fit and able to handle manual lifting.
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to work flexible hours.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Previous experience as a Driver's Mate or in a warehouse environment is desirable but not essential.
Pay rate:
- Day Shift: £12.21/hr (£14.21/hr on weekends)
- Night Shift: £13.21/hr (£15.21/hr on weekends)
Additional Information:
- Shifts may fluctuate between 7pm and 10pm start times until a fixed schedule is confirmed.
- Some shifts may go beyond 8 hours.
- Candidates must be willing to work in both transport and warehouse environments if required.
