Long Term Futures is seeking an experienced and proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a forward-thinking and inclusive primary school in Haringey. This is a varied and rewarding role supporting a Year 4 pupil on a 1:1 basis, while also providing general classroom assistance and leading small-group interventions where required.
This opportunity is ideal for a confident and skilled professional who can combine care, initiative, and leadership in a busy Key Stage 2 setting.
About the Role
Working alongside the class teacher and SENCo, you will:
- Provide 1:1 academic and emotional support for a pupil with additional learning needs.
- Deliver small-group interventions to boost confidence and progress across English and Maths.
- Support the wider class during lessons, transitions, and group activities.
- Assist in planning and adapting classroom activities to ensure inclusion and engagement.
- Model positive behaviour and act as a consistent, trusted adult within the classroom.
- Liaise with teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure cohesive pupil progress.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced Teaching Assistant or HLTA, ideally with prior KS2 experience.
- Confident supporting pupils with SEN or communication needs.
- Strong organisational and communication skills with a proactive mindset.
- Positive, professional, and adaptable within a dynamic school environment.
- Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification preferred, though not essential for strong candidates.
