Heritage Roofing Carpenter – Grade I Listed Building
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm
Rate is Negotiable
Overview:
We’re looking for an experienced carpenter with heritage roofing experience to join a sensitive restoration project in Alresford. The job involves restoring the roof of a unique 1900s opera house, located behind a Grade I listed building.
All carpentry will be carried out on site using traditional techniques — including mortise and tenon or tongue-and-groove joints — with close attention to heritage detail.
Materials will be stored and prepared at ground level, but lifting and shifting timber to the roof space will fall to the trades team already on site.
Requirements:
- Carpentry and roofing experience on listed/heritage buildings
- Skilled in traditional joinery methods
- Comfortable working in confined spaces
- Own tools and PPE
- CSCS Card
- References (if not already known to us)
