What skills and experience we're looking for
As a Teaching Assistant Level 2, you will work under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff to undertake work/care/support programmes to enable access to learning for pupils and assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. You may carry out work in the classroom or outside the main teaching area.
We are looking to enhance our current Learning Support team.
Teaching Assistants are a valuable part of our educational team, providing extra focus and attention to detail that aids students learning and confidence in the curriculum.
Here at Lady Lumley’s, we are fortunate to have an experienced and skilled Learning Support team who make such a difference to our students, providing support for a variety of needs including communication and interaction, cognition and learning, physical and sensory and social, emotional and mental health needs. As our new colleague, you will support the team in addressing the needs of students who require support with their learning, by working with them to provide an enriching learning experience.
The role is:
• To support the needs of pupils as directed by the SENCO, whilst supporting the school in promoting their vision and values and “Being our Best”.
• To work with teachers to support teaching and learning by working with individuals or small groups of pupils under the direction of teaching staff. You may be responsible for some learning activities within the overall teaching plan.
• To work in the classroom or appropriate location within the school, with access to support and guidance as required.
