Are you a passionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant ready to make a real difference in the lives of KS2 pupils? We're looking for someone special to join a vibrant mainstream primary school in Barnsley, supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and behavioural challenges.
About the Role:You'll work closely with a small group of KS2 students, helping them access the curriculum and thrive in a supportive learning environment. These pupils benefit from consistent, positive reinforcement and structured guidance to help them stay engaged and succeed academically and socially.
What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with SEMH and behavioural needs in a primary setting
  • Engaging and enthusiastic personality that builds trust and rapport
  • Skilled in positive praise and positive handling strategies
  • Committed to full-time hours and consistency for the pupils
  • Able to adapt and respond to individual needs with patience and creativity


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to KS2 pupils with SEMH and behavioural challenges
  • Help students access learning and participate fully in classroom activities
  • Implement positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment
