Main Purpose of the Role

Working within Perth & Kinross Council is more than a job, it's about being part of an organisation that puts people at the heart of all we do and provides opportunities to make a real difference by enhancing every life we touch.

We currently have the following opportunity:

Repairs Co-ordinator - PKC13251
£41,276 - £45,349
Pullar House, Perth

At Perth and Kinross Council, our Housing Repairs Service plays a vital role in ensuring over 8,000 households live in safe, warm, and modern homes that meet the Scottish Housing Quality Standard.

We’re proud of the service we provide – from planned and cyclical maintenance to tackling issues like condensation, mould, and damp. Now, we’re looking for a dedicated Repairs Co-ordinator to join our Housing Condition team and help us continue delivering excellent results.

As Co-ordinator, you’ll lead on managing planned and cyclical maintenance across our housing stock – including multi-tenure blocks, garage sites, and lockups. You’ll take a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues that affect the comfort and wellbeing of our tenants, especially around condensation, mould, and damp. You’ll also support the rollout of innovative environmental sensors that help us monitor conditions in our homes and respond quickly to emerging trends.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Overseeing planned and cyclical maintenance programmes.
  • Leading on housing condition improvements.
  • Ensuring health and safety compliance.
  • Meeting performance targets.
  • Supporting staff in line with current policies

You’ll report directly to the Project Manager and work closely with colleagues across the wider Housing Service.

We provide excellent terms and conditions, including:

  • Generous and flexible holiday entitlement.
  • Flexi-time and family-friendly policies.
  • A competitive pension scheme.

Skills & Experience Required

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who thrives in a team environment and brings a positive attitude to work.

You’ll have experience managing staff and supporting others to deliver high standards of service.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, organised, and confident working with others.

You’ll have a proven ability to build strong working relationships and encourage good practices across your team.

To be considered for this role, you’ll need:

  • A relevant qualification at HNC/SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in construction, property, or a building trades function.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage budgets effectively.
  • Confidence using technology and digital systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A full driving licence – as you’ll be travelling across various locations in Perth and Kinross.

Ideally, you’ll also bring:

  • Experience working in a construction or housing repairs environment at a supervisory or management level.
  • Knowledge of identifying and resolving issues related to condensation, mould, and damp in residential properties.
  • A strong track record in leading and supporting teams.
  • A solid understanding of Health and Safety legislation and compliance monitoring.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and experience using job management systems.

You’ll be committed to creating a safe, healthy, and performance-focused working environment for your team.
