Support Worker – Aldingbourne Trust

Location: Various sites across Bognor Regis
Hours: Shifts including daytime, evenings, sleep-in and weekends

Contracts: Full Time 37.5, Part Time 16-25 hours, Relief / Bank Zero hour contracts

Salary: £12.60, and great benefits

Role Overview:

As a Support Worker at the Aldingbourne Trust, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism to live fulfilling, independent lives. You’ll provide person-centred support across a range of settings including supported living, day services, and community-based activities. We offer Full Time 37.5 hours, Part Time 16-25 hours and Bank / Relief, we cover Day, Evening, Sleep-In 7 days a week, on a rota.

The trust supports c1800 individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism, in multiple settings, including their own homes, small and medium sized projects along the Bognor Regis Coast, all living independently with daily or weekly support.

Key Responsibilities:

Build trusting relationships with individuals to understand their goals, preferences, and needs.
Support individuals with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, some personal care, and medication support
Encourage and facilitate participation in social, educational, and recreational activities.
Promote independence and choice in all aspects of life.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning.
Communicate effectively with families, colleagues, and external professionals.
Uphold safeguarding and health & safety standards at all times.
Requirements:

A genuine passion for supporting people with learning disabilities and autism.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
Experience in a care or support role is desirable but not essential.
A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care) is an advantage.
Willingness to undertake training and continuous professional development.
