Haringey, N15 (commutable from Tottenham, Wood Green, Enfield, Seven Sisters, Palmers Green)
£105-£115 per day
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time, long-term (Full Academic Year)
Long Term Futures is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a warm and inclusive Year 1 team in a primary school based in Haringey. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or a graduate (such as in Psychology or Education) who is eager to gain first-hand experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a nurturing, hands-on environment.
About the Role
You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to provide support across the classroom, with a focus on pupils who have additional learning, communication, or emotional needs. This is a varied role that combines 1:1 support, small-group interventions, and whole-class assistance. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils in accessing learning through structured, engaging activities.
- Helping children develop communication, confidence, and independence.
- Providing emotional reassurance and encouraging positive behaviour.
- Assisting with phonics, reading, and number work in small groups.
- Working collaboratively with teachers and specialists to monitor progress.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience working with children in schools or educational settings, or a degree in Psychology, Education, or a related subject.
- A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential.
- Calm, patient, and enthusiastic, with a proactive attitude.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships.
- Eager to learn from experienced staff and develop SEN knowledge.
Why Work with Long Term Futures?
- Long-term placements offering stability and professional growth.
- Weekly pay through a simple digital system.
- Free CPD, including SEN and behaviour management training.
- Ongoing career guidance and support from your personal consultant.
