Location: Brewers Hill Road, Dunstable, LU6 1AD
Contract Type: Temporary (12 weeks – Maternity Cover) likely to be longer

Lead the Way in Housing Relets
Central Bedfordshire Council is seeking a proactive and experienced Housing Relets Team Leader to oversee the delivery of responsive maintenance and void works across our housing stock. This is a short-term maternity cover opportunity where you’ll manage a £6M annual programme of works, ensuring homes are safe, compliant, and ready for new tenants.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lead the operational delivery of voids and maintenance works, ensuring timely turnaround and minimal rent loss.
Manage contractors delivering inspections, risk assessments, renovations, and servicing.
Oversee health and safety compliance across council-owned dwellings.
Drive improvements in customer experience through digital platforms and service innovation.
Resolve complex issues and complaints, monitor KPIs, and implement process changes.
Collaborate across teams and with external partners to deliver a seamless customer journey.
What You’ll Bring
Strong leadership and contract management experience in housing or property services.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to diagnose repair issues and manage remedial works effectively.
Knowledge of housing compliance, including fire safety, boiler servicing, and asbestos management.
A flexible, collaborative approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Work Pattern & Travel
Standard Monday to Friday hours with flexibility as needed.
Hybrid working between Shefford and Dunstable, with regular travel across Central Bedfordshire.
IT equipment collection/return required from Priory House, Shefford.
