Bloomin’ Good Gardens, a South Yorkshire-based landscaping and gardening company founded in 2022. We are passionate about creating and maintaining beautiful, thriving outdoor spaces for commercial and residential properties. Led by award-winning gardeners, our business is growing each year, built on a dedication to quality, customer satisfaction, and deep horticultural expertise.
The Apprentice will learn the correct use of groundcare machinery. I.e. ride on mowers, pedestrian mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers and leaf blowers. On commercial and residential properties.
Will learn plant knowledge identifying perennials and annuals along with weeds in borders.
Will also work on soft and hard landscaping projects.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and hardworking Apprentice Landscape Gardener to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who loves working outdoors, enjoys seeing the results of their hard work, and is eager to learn all aspects of grounds maintenance and landscaping.
As an apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience across a wide variety of horticultural and landscaping tasks, working on both commercial and residential properties. You’ll learn how to use and maintain professional groundcare machinery and develop strong plant knowledge — including identifying weeds, annuals, and perennials.
This role is physically demanding, rewarding, and ideal for someone who takes pride in transforming outdoor spaces into beautiful, welcoming environments.
Key Responsibilities:
● Assist in general grounds maintenance, including:
● Grass cutting, strimming, hedge trimming, and topiary work
● Leaf blowing, weeding, and seasonal clean-ups
● Support landscaping projects, helping bring garden and outdoor designs to life
● Learn safe and correct use of groundcare machinery and tools
● Gain plant identification skills and an understanding of plant care and seasonal changes
● Work under supervision while developing the confidence to use your own initiative
● Maintain high standards of safety, professionalism, and presentation on every site
● Learn the safe and correct use of pesticides with correct PPE provided
What We’re Looking For:
● Genuine enthusiasm for working outdoors in all weather conditions
● Good level of physical fitness and willingness to take on manual tasks
● Reliable, punctual, and proactive attitude
● Keen attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
● Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions
● Eagerness to learn and develop professional skills in landscaping and horticulture
Additional Information
● Driving Lessons: The company will contribute towards 10 driving lessons to support you in gaining your driving licence.
● Bonuses & Benefits: Discretionary bonuses may be awarded, and additional paid downtime or holidays may be available during quieter months.
● Working Conditions: Outdoor work in all weather conditions; appropriate PPE and training provided.
Why Join Us?
This apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to start a rewarding career in landscaping and horticulture. You’ll gain valuable skills, qualifications, and real-world experience while contributing to projects that make a visible difference — turning neglected spaces into eye-catching, enjoyable environments.
Progression:

Delivery to be completed on site and off the job training either at Barnsley College or your place of work. Student to complete Level 2 Horticulture and Landscape Operative.
