Crynodeb
The Drug and Alcohol Harms Panel Manager will: Drive and deliver complex work programmes requiring a high level of technical expertise to meet established operational targets and organisational requirements. Make decisions and prioritise work taking account of stakeholder requirements. Specialist systems are managed, and procedures are completed to time and standards required. Research, develop and implement core systems, policies and procedures including data sharing agreements. Changes in policy and procedures are communicated effectively. Research and evaluate complex information and data. Identify and interpret issues, trends and problems which may have a broad impact both within the organisation and for partner organisations. Comprehensive reports/ documentation / recommendations / plans are produced, presented, disseminated and regularly reviewed and updated as required. Conclusions and recommendations support strategic decision making within Public Health and the Combating Drugs Partnership and fulfil statutory and procedural obligations. Identify and immediately deal with situations where service delivery has been identified. Use initiative to manage responses to complex technical and business issues within the specialist area. Provide expert advice, information and support on the full range of technical and professional issues within the field of expertise. Escalated or complex issues are managed through to a satisfactory conclusion or escalated further where unable to resolve. Learning from issues is embedded within the system. Identify additional service requirements or opportunities for innovation to establish new ways of working and recommend innovative solutions. Lead initiatives to design, plan and deliver improvements, meeting system wide requirements. Value for money and best practice are ensured. Manage significant projects within the specialised field and contribute to larger organisation wide programmes. Projects are delivered to agreed specification, timescales, budgets and meet Government agenda requirements. Change initiatives are successfully implemented. Proactively build good working relationships and communicate effectively with all stakeholders, ensuring they are engaged. Represent professional service area at partnership, public and other high profile events, sharing best practice and maintaining or enhancing the reputation of Public Health. Support partnership working groups to produce valid and timely outputs, ensuring stakeholders are engaged. Contribute to resource planning within own area. Support the development and delivery of service / project plans for area of responsibility. Contribute to wider service planning, improvement and development activities. Aspects of service / project plan for area of responsibility are developed in agreement with line manager. Audits / reviews / performance measurement of the area of responsibility are undertaken correctly. Monitor and report on service standards within the specialist area. Provide quality, performance and / or other management information accurately to the required timescales to improve service standards. Take appropriate action to address issues or escalate as necessary. Act in accordance with all policies and procedures which apply to the role and understand the reasons for this.
