Head of Colleague Experience
Waverley Court
Salary: £77,845 - £93,154
Hours: 36 per week, 52 weeks
The Head of Colleague Experience is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of our People Strategy to enhance the overall experience of colleagues in the City of Edinburgh Council. Reporting directly to the Service Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development, you'll lead multiple teams of HR professionals.
This exciting and influential newly created role is critical to driving the Council's commitment to creating a workplace culture where all of our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work. You will seek to harness the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, belief, experience, and backgrounds brings.
A key success for this role is being able to demonstrate that our colleagues have the tools to do their jobs and, through partnering with senior leaders, our overall business objectives align with our employee experience strategy.
This is a constantly evolving area, so as the new Head of Colleague Experience, we are looking for someone who is up to date with the latest best practices and thinking and can demonstrate proven results in an innovative and modern way. You'll have experience in a large, complex organisation leading on leadership, learning and organisational development as well as providing expertise on talent and resourcing to improve retention and colleague experience.
If you would like an informal discussion on this role with our Service Director for HR and Organisational Development, please contact Nareen.Turnbull@edinburgh.gov.ukmailto:Nareen.Turnbull@edinburgh.gov.uk">Nareen.Turnbull@edinburgh.gov…; and we will arrange this.
We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.
As part of our goal to improve our organisational culture and create a great place to work together for the people of Edinburgh, we want to make sure that we're bringing the best people into our roles, not just in their skills and experience but also in their approach to work.
To help achieve this, we're changing the way we interview and assess candidates by moving from a competency-based interview approach to a behavioural and technical (skills for the job) based approach. This new way of interviewing will allow us to assess how you think and how you would bring Our Behaviours of Respect, Integrity and Flexibility into your ways of working.
You can find out more on Our Behaviours web page https://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/work-us/behaviours" target="_blank">Our Behaviours - The City of Edinburgh Council
Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
