The Chronic Pain Therapy team has an exciting opportunity for a senior Occupational therapist to join the team. The Band 6 role would be suitable for an Occupational therapist with experience working with chronic pain patients or managing long term conditions in an outpatient setting.


We would also be keen to hear from experienced Band 5 Occupational Therapists interested in a career in Chronic Pain. For the right candidate, we would be happy to offer the opportunity of a Band 5 through to Band 6 Training Role. You would be fully trained and supported to achieve your clinical competencies with banding uplift guaranteed upon successful completion.

The Chronic Pain therapy team is made up of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists, who work across all areas of Pain. You will work with and have support from Pain Consultants and the wider Medical team, specialist nurses and Psychologists. You will be part of the TACC directorate within the Surgery Care Group. You will received operational management and governance from the Surgical AHP senior leadership team, the Care group leadership operational team and the AHP professional leadership team.

You will treat patients across all areas of the pain team including OT, complex and MDT clinics and group settings. We are looking for a confident communicator who is willing to positively challenge their patients and peers. An interest in Pain education is an advantage. Some experience of health coaching or motivational interviewing is essential.

The role will involve undertaking clinical audits and we encourage the involvement in research. You will also have opportunity to lead on developments within the service and provide supervision and education for Occupational Therapy students.
