Crynodeb
Provide high quality & visible operational & line management, modelling excellent communication & team-building skills to the Ultrasound team to deliver efficient use of resources, high productivity & evidence based high quality patient care. To be accountable for the Ultrasound budget within the Radiology Directorate and ensure the achievement of financial balance To support the Directorate with the development of an appropriate business plan that will deliver the required efficiencies whilst maintaining quality & service delivery. Following the monthly finance reviews, highlight any areas of impending adverse financial situations developing mitigation and action plans with the DM, Radiology CUOMs, and Clinical Leads. Reviewing and ensuring Ultrasound support staff establishment and skill mix are sufficient to meet local and national safe staffing standards, inclusive of daily dependency and staffing reports. Ensure health rosters are utilised effectively and efficiently to plan staffing to meet the demands of the service and that unplanned shortages are dealt with utilising ingenuity/flexibility and adaptability. Anticipate potential problems, in particular staffing and capacity issues, taking action to prevent/minimise these, responding to any changes promptly and effectively and developing relevant protocols/guidelines. Lead and report the outcomes of regular reviews and validation of temporary staffing spend, establishment, skill mix & rostering practices for the Ultrasound team. To advise the Directorate Manager, Radiology CUOMs, and Clinical Leads regarding the purchase and prioritisation of Ultrasound equipment. Using benchmarking data support the Directorate Manager, Radiology CUOMs, and Clinical Leads on the development of investment plans to secure the resources required to continually improve the Ultrasound service. Work with the Directorate Manager, Radiology CUOMs, and Clinical Leads to identify efficiencies & ensure achievement of the Performance & Efficiency programmes. To implement, monitor and review comprehensive and appropriate induction, orientation, support and mentoring programmes for all staff and students working within Ultrasound across the Trust. To be accountable for the effective deployment and development of Ultrasound staff within the Radiology Directorate, to support and enable the rotation of Ultrasound staff across the Radiology Directorate. To identify Ultrasound service requirements and provide the necessary logistic, administrative and technical support. Have an awareness of RTT and NHS pathway targets/standards of work
