The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Electrical Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis, working in a hybrid capacity from our Warrington office. This role offers the chance to lead and contribute to high-impact engineering projects across sectors including Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Energy, Utilities, Chemicals, and more.
The Role You’ll be responsible for producing and coordinating EC&I designs within single or multi-discipline EPC environments, ensuring technical integrity, compliance, and alignment with project scope and industry standards.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
- Produce and manage EC&I designs, including Fire & Gas detection and protection systems.
- Lead a team of engineers and designers to deliver high-quality outputs.
- Collaborate with the Lead EC&I Engineer to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery.
- Maintain alignment with other disciplines including Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Process, and Automation.
- Participate in internal and external design reviews.
- Translate Scope of Work into actionable deliverables and delegate tasks effectively.
- Ensure technical accuracy and quality of all EC&I outputs, including third-party deliverables.
- Uphold compliance with relevant standards and project specifications.
You will have the following qualifications & experience
- Previous experience as a Senior EC&I Engineer in Engineering / EPCM / EPC environments.
- Strong technical grasp of EC&I discipline with leadership and coordination capabilities.
- MEng / BEng / HNC / HND in EC&I Engineering.
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (preferred).
- Experience with Radiological Surveillance Systems (RSS) (preferred).
- Proficiency in checking and approving EC&I deliverables including:
- Single Line Diagrams
- Cable Calculations
- Loop Diagrams
- Instrument Hook-up Diagrams
- Instrument Datasheets
- IS Calculations
- Instrument Index
- Block Cable Diagrams
- Excellent planning and coordination skills across disciplines.
- Demonstrated application of key industry standards.
- Experience with Plant 3D and/or Revit.

- A results-driven mindset focused on client satisfaction and design acceptance.
- Ability to manage dependencies and drive project success in complex environments.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience working on both greenfield and brownfield projects.
