Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Warehouse & Logistics Manager to lead a small team in a busy food manufacturing environment. This role will oversee the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring the safe storage, handling and dispatch of chilled and frozen products.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage a small team of warehouse operatives, setting goals and monitoring performance.
- Plan and coordinate the receipt, storage and dispatch of goods.
- Maintain stock accuracy and inventory control using ERP systems.
- Ensure warehouse processes meet food safety, allergen and hygiene standards.
- Schedule staff rotas and oversee training in safety, quality and operational procedures.
- Liaise with production, third-party warehouses and suppliers to ensure smooth stock movement.
- Motivate and organise the team to achieve productivity targets.
- Manage warehouse equipment, vehicles and mechanical handling equipment.
- Produce reports and monitor KPIs to support continuous improvement.
- Book transport with 3rd Part Suppliers
Skills & experience:
- Proven previous experience managing successful warehouse teams in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong people manager who enjoys motivating and developing teams and a positive culture.
- Food manufacturing and cold/chill experience would be highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of inventory control, ERP systems and dispatch processes.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Hands-on, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
