I am a nearly 12-year-old young lady, looking for someone “preppy” to support me in the next stage of my life's adventures. I describe myself as “cute, preppy, funny and sassy”. My case manager has helped me to prepare this advert using my words to describe myself.
I sustained an injury as a baby and as a result have complex needs, including cognitive and physical, but this does not define me in any way. I am very independent but need the occasional hand to help with personal care when I get stuck. I mainly need my support worker/therapy assistant out of school so that I can enjoy social and leisure activities, engage in therapy/ carry out my exercises. I am not shy to talk to anyone and have strong ideas and opinions. I love horses, swimming and art, and am up for trying new things and having adventures. I have already been on the television when I was part of skiing team that broke a world skiing record.
My new Support Worker/Child Therapy Assistant will need to be energetic, enthusiastic, fun, reliable and flexible, calm, patient and under pressure. This role would be an excellent opportunity for a therapy student or psychology graduate who will enjoy being part of a multidisciplinary team working alongside supporting with the client’s therapy programme. During school holidays your hours are likely to be increased to provide extra support and to accompany me on day trips to places further afield. I may need support for hospital or expert appointments A full induction and training will be provided. This role is subject to an Enhanced level DBS.
