Summary

Fixed Term Post until Sept 2026 due to Maternity Cover
We are looking for an efficient, hardworking and enthusiastic Officer to join the Planning and Building Control Support Team within Planning Services.
Candidates must have previous experience of working in a busy office environment.
To manage and co-ordinate the handling of appeals to the Planning Inspectorate being the first point of contact for the Inspectorate, the appellant/agent and the public.
The post holder will be required to maintain and process applications for planning and building control, filing systems, correspondence and dealing with enquiries from customers and the Planning Inspectorate and undertaking general office duties. The post-holder will be required to deal with confidential information and work to specific deadlines.
You should be confident in dealing with clients, partners, external professionals and also members of the public. You must be highly organised and have excellent administrative, IT and communication skills.
The work can be demanding and as the team is very busy you must be able to demonstrate that you are able to deal effectively with a large workload which is subject to tight deadlines.
