Responsible IndividuaL– Children’s Residential Home

Contract Type: Part-Time | Interim

Rate: £250–£450 per day

This is an exciting opportunity to play a role in launching and leading a brand-new children’s residential care home. We’re looking for an experienced Responsible Individual or Registered Manager who can bring their expertise, leadership, and commitment to high-quality care into a fresh, purpose-driven environment.

What We’re Looking For

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience as a Responsible Individual or Registered Manager within a children’s residential setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and practice.
  • Experience working with Looked After Children (LAC) and EBD needs.
  • Demonstrated success in supporting Ofsted registration and start-up processes.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce) required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the registration, setup, and ongoing management of a new children’s home.
  • Ensure full compliance with Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
  • Provide strategic leadership, guidance, and supervision to the Registered Manager and care team.
  • Promote best practices in safeguarding, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all young people.
  • Work closely with local authorities, Ofsted, and external partners to deliver exceptional standards of care.
  • Drive continuous improvement and positive outcomes for Looked After Children (LAC) with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
