CHD Living – Creating Happiness Daily
At CHD Living, we’ve been providing compassionate, family-centered care since 1984, proudly serving communities across Surrey and South London. With nearly 40 years of experience, we are thrilled to be opening Willow Grange, our brand-new care home in Woking, due to open between December and January, subject to CQC registration.
We’re looking for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Person to help ensure our home runs smoothly and safely. While our dedicated team provides top-quality care to residents, you’ll be the go-to person for repairs, upkeep, and the overall maintenance of our home. Think of yourself as our on-site Bob (or Wendy) the Builder!
What You’ll Do:
Carry out repairs and maintenance throughout the care home, identifying and resolving areas needing attention
Conduct regular safety checks on equipment, including fire alarms, call bell units, and extinguishers
Assist with painting, decorating, electrical, and plumbing tasks as required
Work with the Home Manager to draft daily maintenance schedules and prioritise urgent jobs
Keep accurate records of all checks, repairs, and maintenance carried out
Liaise with external contractors when needed
Be on-hand for emergencies outside normal working hours
Ensure full adherence to Health & Safety, COSHH, and Fire Safety regulations
What We’re Looking For:
Practical experience in general maintenance, with skills in painting, decorating, plumbing, and electrical work
Strong knowledge of Health & Safety procedures
Ability to work on your own initiative, prioritise tasks, and respond to problems safely and effectively
Full manual driving licence is essential
Flexibility to occasionally work evenings or weekends, depending on the home’s requirements
What we are offering:
5.6 weeks annual leave
Employee Assistance Programme
Free meal per shift
Free, face-to-face & interactive training
Career development and opportunities
NEST pension plan
Free DBS check*
Refer a friend scheme*
Long service reward scheme
