About TecSec
TecSec Services are a Sheffield-based Trusted IT and Technology Partner, supporting SME clients locally and nationwide for over 25 years. Founded by Managing Director Morton Bell and Technical Director Phill McManus, TecSec are passionate about providing secure, reliable, and forward-thinking IT solutions that help businesses grow with confidence.
Based at Meadowcourt beside Meadowhall, the office is easily accessible by tram, train, and bus - or by car with plenty of nearby parking.
What might a typical week look like in this new role?
Before we go into that, it is important to say we are open-minded about background and experience - whether you’re starting out in your sales career or looking for your next step.
What really matters is your energy, curiosity, and drive to grow with us.
At the start, much of your role will focus on outbound calling and lead generation – introducing TecSec to new businesses, starting conversations, and identifying opportunities that could lead to new client relationships.
You will have full training, clear guidance, and plenty of support from the team and from our external sales coach to help you feel confident in this.
So, what would you be doing day to day?
Lead generation - reaching out to new businesses by phone and email, introducing TecSec’s services, and creating the first point of contact.
Follow-ups and relationship building - reconnecting with previous enquiries and prospects to explore how TecSec can help them.
Booking meetings - working with the team to arrange quality introductions and follow-up conversations.
Researching and planning - identifying local businesses to approach and learning how to tailor your outreach.
CRM management - logging calls, notes, and updates to keep everything organised and track progress.
Networking and marketing support - getting involved in local events, LinkedIn activity, and marketing campaigns.
Process development - working with the team to help shape and document how TecSec’s sales process evolves.
Tenders and proposals - assisting with research and learning how submissions are built and presented.
As you settle in and begin to see success, the role will naturally grow into more business development -attending meetings, managing relationships, and helping shape TecSec’s future client base.
Who we’re looking for
You might be:
A recent graduate ready to build a career in a growing, professional company
Someone with 1–3 years’ experience in a sales, telesales, or customer service role, looking to take on more responsibility and growth
Or a career-changer who is developed strong communication, organisation, or relationship-building skills in another setting
You will likely be:
A confident communicator - friendly, curious, and resilient
Someone who enjoys speaking with people and can quickly build rapport
Comfortable working to goals and measuring progress
Organised and proactive, with good attention to detail
Keen to learn and grow within a small, close-knit team
Based locally and happy working in the Sheffield office day-to-day
What is in it for you
A clear route from lead generation to full business development
Coaching and mentoring from TecSec’s leadership team
Involvement in real client meetings and local networking events
A supportive, collaborative SME culture where every voice counts
The chance to make a visible impact in a growing business
