Crynodeb
The Project supports people with Learning Disabilities to engage in growing and cultivating vegetables and plants for sale to the public who visit the Amelia Trust Farm in Barry, where the project is based.
The post holder will need to have horticultural experience, ideally having a Horticulture qualification or be used to working in an allotment.
They would need to be a driver with their own transport or have other means of getting onsite in the morning and home after work and preferably also a minibus driver, as they would have to be either picking people up in the minibus or preparing work before participants arrive.
The post holder will need to supervise and demonstrate how to sow seeds, pot up, plant, weed, dig, cut back, mow, pick/harvest, turn compost, move crates of plants/veg, move full wheelbarrows and other associated tasks. They will also have support experience in order to understand and work with people with learning disabilities and be physically able to perform the above tasks.
