Job Title: Recycling Manager
Salary: £48,000 – £50,000 per annum
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Experience Required: Minimum 5 years in waste management or environmental operations
Job Description:
The Recycling Manager is responsible for overseeing and improving the organisation’s waste management and recycling processes to ensure full compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability standards. The role involves planning, implementing, and supervising recycling programmes, managing teams of recycling and waste collection staff, coordinating with local authorities and contractors, and promoting best practices to reduce waste and increase recycling efficiency.
Key duties include:
Developing and enforcing recycling and waste-management policies in line with legislation.
Monitoring performance targets, waste volumes, and environmental impact.
Managing budgets, resources, and supplier contracts efficiently.
Conducting site inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Leading staff training and performance reviews to maintain high operational standards.
Liaising with government agencies and local councils regarding permits and sustainability initiatives.
Producing detailed reports and data analysis to support continuous improvement.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of waste legislation and environmental compliance.
Proven leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder-management ability.
