LOCATION: Enfield, North London
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday, Rotating Shift Pattern (Day Shift 6.00am – 3.00pm / Night Shift 3.00pm – 11.00pm)
JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Senior Machine Operator / Manufacturing Line Technician who is confident working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
As a Senior Machine Operator / Manufacturing Line Technician you will ensure the safe, efficient and consistent operation of production lines from raw materials through to finished goods.
The Senior Machine Operator / Manufacturing Line Technician will be responsible for maintaining quality, food safety and compliance standards, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
DUTIES
Your duties as the Senior Machine Operator / Manufacturing Line Technician include:
• Ensure Safe Operations: Work proactively to maintain a safe environment and report any hazards or unsafe behaviours
• Carry Out Quality Checks: Complete all defined quality assurance and safety checks, including pre-start inspections and documentation
• Maintain Hygiene Standards: Ensure the line team adheres to hygiene schedules and that the area meets GMP requirements
• Monitor Process Efficiency: Manage production and quality parameters, identify efficiency issues and escalate as required
• Support Continuous Improvement: Engage in improvement projects to boost yield, reduce waste and improve line performance
• Manage Stock and Materials: Ensure materials are available and issued correctly, minimising downtime and ensuring accurate stock control
• Complete Accurate Reporting: Update SIC boards, log downtime and support KPI tracking
• Oversee Changeovers: Minimise downtime through effective planning, delegation and adherence to targets
• Conduct Effective Handovers: Communicate clearly with incoming teams to ensure smooth transition between shifts
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• Knowledge and experience in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach
• Experience with stock control processes and production documentation
• GCSE standard in Maths and English (or equivalent)
• Basic food hygiene understanding (Level 2 Food Safety desirable)
• Awareness of Critical Control Points (desirable)
• Manual handling and Health & Safety knowledge (desirable)
