Person Specification We're looking for a hands-on, commercially aware leader who thrives in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. They will be responsible for setting the tone and culture of the fulfilment team, ensuring every order is processed with accuracy, urgency, and a customer-first mindset. This role requires someone who can lead by example, coach others to exceed expectations, and take ownership of the end-to-end service experience for our clients. The ideal candidate will be able to: · Champion a customer-first approach, instilling pride in the team's role as the final gateway to service delivery, and maintaining a positive reputation for Hutton's with every order fulfilled. · Demonstrate proven leadership in sales order administration or customer service environments, with the ability to set the standard and embed best practice across the team. · Set and enforce high standards for accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring customer orders, POs, and system data are consistently right first time. · Foster a calm and methodical team culture, ensuring that performance remains consistent even under pressure or during peak demand. · Implement strong organization across the fulfilment team, ensuring the team manages workloads effectively and hits daily and weekly fulfilment targets. · Encourage a flexible and committed team ethos, ensuring staff are motivated and willing to go the extra mile during busy periods or operational pinch points. · Lead by example in building a collaborative, can-do culture, supporting cross-functional working and encouraging mutual support across departments. · Oversee effective communication standards, coaching team members on verbal and written communication, and ensuring customer and internal updates are professional and timely. · Act as a key problem-solver, supporting the team in navigating fulfilment issues, resolving escalations, and creating a solutions-focused mindset. Job Description
· Oversee and manage the daily operation of the sales fulfilment team, ensuring all orders and enquiries are processed quickly, accurately, and with excellent customer service. · Drive a "customer-first" culture across the team, ensuring every order is handled with care, urgency, and professionalism. · Supervise procurement of non-stock and supplier ordering for items from approved suppliers, ensuring quality standards, commercial pricing, and margin targets are achieved. · Support the Commercial Director as required · Liaise closely with the Warehouse Manager and logistics Manager to ensure all customer orders are fulfilled accurately, completely, and to the required quality standards. · Take a proactive approach to order fulfilment, ensuring the business is well organised and goods are ordered in time to support the delivery of customer orders. · Ensure profitability through careful oversight of margin levels, purchasing accuracy, and reduction of errors or write-offs. · Act as the escalation point for fulfilment issues, proactively solving problems and communicating clearly with both customers and internal teams. · Provide team leadership, coaching, and training to ensure staff development, upskilling, and consistent service delivery. · Lead daily fulfilment planning and performance reviews, overcoming workload pressures, resourcing issues, and process bottlenecks. · Ensure cross-cover is in place across the team to maintain business continuity during holidays, absences, or high-volume periods. · Support broader customer service or operational tasks as required by the business. · Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, data protection, and internal policy standards.
