SEN Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Autism Support
Location: Daventry, NN11
Weekly Pay: £460 - £500
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm (Term Time Only)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long-term, Temp-to-Perm
Long Term Futures is seeking a patient, adaptable and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with Autism in a welcoming primary school in Daventry. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference, helping the child access learning, develop social and emotional skills, and work towards their individual EHCP targets. This is a long-term placement until the end of the academic year, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
What the Role Involves:
- Providing 1:1 support to a child with Autism
- Supporting the child in accessing the EYFS and KS1/KS2 curriculum (depending on their year group)
- Using Makaton, PECs, visual aids, and structured routines to aid communication and learning
- Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and independence
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies and EHCP targets
- Helping create a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience supporting children with Autism and SEN in a school setting
- Knowledge of EYFS/KS1 or KS2 curriculum
- Calm, patient, and highly adaptable to meet individual needs
- Familiarity with Makaton, PECs, visual timetables, and behaviour management strategies
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Driving licence desirable
