Salary: Grade 3, £16,811 - £17,344 per annum. £12.85 - £13.26 per hour
30 hours per week, term time working 38 weeks per year
Temporary in the first instance until 31st August 2026
Required from 3rd November 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter
The Governors wish to appoint a professional and committed Teaching Assistant to join our highly successful school. Your initial duties will include supporting pupils in both Key Stage One and Key Stage Two as well as supervising pupils of all ages at lunchtimes.
The main duties of the post are as follows
- Establish rapport and respectful, trusting relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
- Supervise and support pupils to undertake agreed learning activities under the direction of the class teacher.
- To promote pupils’ development in a safe, secure, challenging environment.
- Promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils by encouraging them to interact with each other and to engage in activities led by the teacher.
- Support the effective use of ICT in learning activities and develop pupils’ competence and independence in its use.
- Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Plans.
- Encourage good behaviour and manage behaviour appropriately in line with the requirements of the school behaviour policy.
- Promote self-esteem and independence amongst pupils.
- Provide feedback to pupils on their progress and achievement under the guidance of a teacher, in line with school policies.
- To assist in the supervision of pupils on outings and visits.
- Supervise children during lunchtime, in the hall, cloakrooms and playground areas.
- Encourage good table manners and develop social skills appropriate to the age of the child.
- Encourage and join in with playtime games and activities.
- Report to the class teachers any accidents, incidents or misbehaviour at the end of each lunchtime session.
- Ensure a first aider is informed of any accidents, and that pupils who are injured or sick are attended to as appropriate.
- Tidy up and wipe up spillages in the hall.
- Participate in all training relevant to the position.
- Be supportive of the School’s ethos at all times.
