More detail about the role Our Urgent Community Response Support Workers (SHCSWs) form an essential and well-respected part of our healthcare teams across the community. The team The Urgent Community Response Service in Exeter is looking to recruit Support Workers. HOWEVER, A CLEAN UK DRIVING LICENCE AND ACCESS TO A VEHICLE IS A PRE-REQUISITE FOR THE ROLE AND THIS MUST BE STATED CLEARLY IN YOUR APPLICATION. PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT UNFORTUNATELY THIS ROLE DOES NOT SATISFY REQUIREMENTS FOR SPONSORSHIP AND ANY PERSON REQUIRING A WORKING VISA OF ANY KIND WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. The service provides care over 7 days a week 365 days a year, with shift patterns covering the hours from 0730hrs until 2200hrs. The service provides care across Exeter and outlying areas and you will be part of a team providing a quality service promoting independence, dignity and support. This service aims to avoid unplanned hospital admission for people who could safely be maintained and supported at home, as well as enabling people to return to their home as quickly as possible from hospital. Hours and shifts are offered on a full or possibly, a part time basis. This will include weekends and evenings at enhanced rates. Previous community experience is desired but not necessarily essential as the team will give the support and guidance required by a successful candidate to enable you to excel. You will join a dynamic multi-disciplinary team, working with Health and Social Care Teams to respond to urgent situations, to enable people to stay in their own homes or ensure a timely discharge from Acute and Community Hospitals. You will be provided with a comprehensive induction programme which will include support to complete the National Care Certificate. Successful candidates will have a Level 3 Diploma / NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent or have equivalent experience of working with older people in a community setting. You will also need to be competent with IT as electronic recording is an essential part of the role. As stated above, as this is a community-based position, a driving license is essential as is access to a vehicle which is clearly stated above. Urgent Community Response Support Workers are lone workers within the community, although support is always available. Working Pattern: Early Shifts 0730-1530 or late shifts 1400-2200. Depending on your shift pattern and working hours, you may also receive additional enhancements to your pay.
