Job Description
Live Life Outdoors as part of Live Life Aberdeenshire/Aberdeenshire Council are seeking experienced and qualified Bicycle Mechanics to join our Cycle Programme on a Relief Basis. As part of this recruitment phase, we are seeking 3 x Relief Bike Mechanics, ideally with a geographical spread to ensure coverage of North, Central and South Aberdeenshire.
The successful candidates will be part of the wider Outdoor Team and will ensure that the required service levels are provided to our Bike Fleet, school fleets across Aberdeenshire, wider council programmes and our partner organisations when required.
This role is designed to support our authority wide responsibilities and to ensure we can deliver a “Hub and Spoke” approach to our service delivery across Aberdeenshire, and it is essential that the candidates are available Monday-Friday within school day hours.
Working within one of the three areas, and with the central base of our Cycle workshop in Inverurie, the Relief Mechanic will respond to jobs that can be dealt with on a local basis, using locally available resources in support of our cycle programme and the wider activity being delivered by schools and partners. This will be a dynamic role to ensure that programmes operate at all times of the year, that they align to our legal responsibilities for the delivery of outdoor activities and there may also be opportunities to support operations at the main Cycle Workshop.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
