SEN Qualified Teacher: Shape the Future of Specialist Education

Are you a Qualified Teacher ready for a new, rewarding challenge in Special Educational Needs (SEN) education?

This is a unique opportunity to use your teaching skills to directly design and shape a school's curriculum. We're looking for an integral team player who is keen on a better work-life balance with less marking or planning.

If you're eager to accelerate learning for autistic children aged 4-19, this teaching role could be a perfect fit

What You'll Be Doing

As part of the Qualified Teaching team, you will:

  • Deliver support and instruction based on behaviour analysis and positive reinforcement techniques to help autistic pupils accelerate their learning.

  • Work with pupils in small groups or on a 1:1 basis, using specialised support plans to help them reach their full potential

  • Design, plan, and deliver the wider school curriculum and special events to enhance learning and development.

  • Collect, record, and analyse data to track progress and develop support plans

  • Contribute to the design of an engaging, differentiated school curriculum (long, medium, and short-term plans).

  • Lead and participate in educational visits and off-site activities (during school hours).

Key Requirements

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teaching & Learning Status (QTLS). (Early Careers Teachers must have completed a minimum of 1 year of the supported induction process in a mainstream setting).

  • UK school system teaching experience and an understanding of the National Curriculum in England.

  • An interest in or experience with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

  • Confidence in working with children who exhibit challenging behaviours.

  • The willingness to support with personal/intimate care where required.

  • A commitment to ongoing training and professional development

Benefitas of joining this school

We offer a supportive environment focused on both staff and pupil success:

  • A £1000 joining bonus.

  • Accelerated career advancement opportunities, including progression to Lead Teacher (QTS) upon successful completion of the 12-week probationary period.

  • Opportunity to use your experience to shape an engaging, individualised curriculum.

  • Fully funded training and research in behaviour science-driven teaching, which can include:

    • Behaviour analysis specific qualifications such as CABAS Teaching Ranks, Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT), Board Certified Behaviour Analysis certification (BCBA), and UK Society for Behaviour Analysis certification UKBA (cert).

    • A Masters in High Incidence & Disabilities (worth up to £13,000)

  • The chance to work alongside a multidisciplinary team of behaviour analysts, speech & language therapists, and occupational therapists.

  • Excellent staff wellbeing and support facilities.

  • Free Parking or transport to and from Central Guildford
