Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Operative to join our team specializing in the storage, handling, and dispatch of windows, doors, and conservatory components. The ideal candidate will ensure that all materials are received, stored, and distributed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Receive, inspect, and record deliveries of windows, doors, frames, and associated materials.
• Safely load and unload vehicles using forklifts or other handling equipment.
• Check all goods for damage, accuracy, and quality before storage or dispatch.
• Pick, pack, and prepare orders for delivery according to job sheets and schedules.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels through stock checks and record keeping.
• Organize and maintain a clean, efficient, and safe warehouse environment.
• Handle glass units and frames with care to prevent damage.
• Assist in quality control and product labeling.
• Coordinate with drivers, installers, and the production team to ensure timely order fulfillment.
• Adhere to all health and safety procedures, PPE use, and manual handling best practices.
Requirements
• Previous warehouse or manufacturing experience (experience with glazing or joinery products preferred).
• Ability to lift and handle large or heavy items safely.
• Forklift licence (desirable).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Basic computer or inventory system skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
