We're seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support secondary schools in the Waltham Cross area of Hertfordshire. This is a flexible, on-call role-perfect for someone reliable, adaptable, and confident delivering lessons at short notice.
The Role
As a HLTA, you'll play a vital part in ensuring learning continues smoothly in the absence of teaching staff. Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects
- Leading groups of up to 25 students (ages 11-18)
- Supporting student engagement and learning
- Promoting positive behaviour and a focused classroom environment
What We're Looking For
- Confidence in managing a classroom and engaging young people
- Background in education, youth work, coaching, or public speaking
- Previous HLTA or Cover Supervisor experience is a plus - but not essential
- Subject knowledge or specialism is welcome but not required
