Assist your Line Manager in investigating any complaints in conjunction with the Head of Nursing and Outpatient Clinical Services. Address verbal complaints immediately with the aim of resolving at local level. To have a working knowledge of Clinical Governance within the clinic and participate in conducting nursing audits to achieve the agreed standards. Working within flexible rosters, designed to achieve the most effective use of staff to meet the needs of our patients. Assist your Line Manager in ensuring the department is efficiently and effectively managed at all times and deputise in her/his absence when necessary. Know how and when to call for assistance in the event of an emergency. Be trained and able to assist in emergency patient care, including resuscitation. Support your line manager and participate in the development of the nursing services, ensuring that staff have the appropriate knowledge and skills. Manage and support the development of the Health Care Assistants team, including the conduct of Appraisals Deputise for the Private outpatient Sister in their absence, where applicable. To demonstrate politeness, courtesy, and sensitivity in dealing with patients/clients, visitors/relatives and colleagues, maintaining good customer relations, recognising their needs for alternative methods of communication. Attend daily multidisciplinary team briefing while on shift To promote and abide by the 6 Cs of nursing (care, compassion, competence, communication, courage, commitment). To promote and abide by the private patient gold standard of customer care and measure outcomes. Attend the department's monthly nursing team meeting to facilitate improved communication and contribute positively to the discussion and action plans that arise. Attend other multidisciplinary meeting, committee or forum if required. Ensure consultants and their secretaries who use the private patients service receive helpful responses to their requests for information.
