Job Opportunity: Assistant or Quantity Surveyor

We are a main contractor with a solid reputation in the commercial new build and fit-out sector, currently experiencing a period of sustained growth. With a strong pipeline of upcoming projects, we are looking to expand our team and are seeking a Graduate Quantity Surveyor or an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic and friendly office.

About the Role

This is an office-based position at our headquarters in Kidderminster, with regular opportunities to visit live construction sites. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the commercial success of our projects-measuring, managing costs, analysing data, and supporting procurement and valuations..

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in or lead cost planning, budgeting, and cost control

  • Prepare and evaluate tenders and contracts

  • Conduct measurement and valuation tasks

  • Collaborate with project managers and site teams

  • Monitor project progress and produce financial reports

  • Support procurement and supplier negotiations

  • Ensure projects are delivered within agreed budgets and timelines

Candidate Requirements

Education:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a closely related discipline is essential.

Experience:

  • Quantity Surveyor or Assistant with Quantity Surveying experience.

  • Experience with Bluebeam is desirable but not essential.

Personal Attributes:

  • Ambitious, enthusiastic, and eager to learn

  • Proactive and confident in taking on responsibility

  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills

  • Organised and able to manage multiple priorities
